Description:
This Longquan celadon "bamboo" barb handle cup dates from the Yuan to early Ming dynasty (14th century), China. It is carefully potted with shallow edges that spread outward to form distinctive barbed edges, supported by segmented feet resembling bamboo. The exterior of the cup is carved with alternating vertical single and double lines, while the interior features curved lines, evoking the flow of a stream. The entire cup is covered in a deeper celadon glaze, with the exception of unglazed anklets, which turn an orange hue during the firing process.
