Description:
This pair of Longquan celadon-glazed double fish washers dates back to the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279 CE). Characterized by their rich green glaze, these washers were produced in the renowned Longquan kilns, which were famed for their exquisite celadon ceramics. The double fish motif symbolizes abundance, harmony, and prosperity in Chinese culture.
The pieces feature a softly curved form, enhanced by a lustrous and evenly applied celadon glaze, which pools subtly in the carved recesses, creating depth and contrast. The undersides remain partially unglazed, revealing the warm-toned ceramic body typical of Longquan ware.
