About the Artist: Robinson Murray (1890 - 1984) was an American artist from Massachusetts. After graduating from Harvard College in 1912 with a degree in studio art, Murray pursued a career in commercial art before enlisting in the Army during World War I, where he continued to paint even in combat. After the war, he resumed his commercial career until his retirement in 1960, when he turned his focus to modern abstract art, developing a distinct and powerful style.
