About the Artist:
Andre Gisson (1929–2003) was an American impressionist painter known for his landscapes, coastal scenes, still lifes, and portraits. Born in New York, he studied at the Pratt Institute and later traveled to Europe, where he was influenced by the great French impressionists. Gisson’s works are characterized by his signature short, broken brushstrokes and soft, vibrant color palettes. He painted extensively in the French countryside and around Lake Mahopac in upstate New York. His works have been exhibited in galleries across the United States, and his paintings are held in numerous private and public collections.
