Arturo Carmassi (2 July 1925 – 27 January 2015) was an Italian sculptor and painter whose career left a significant mark on the art world.
Carmassi began his artistic journey at the Accademia Albertina in Turin. His first exhibition in 1948 marked the commencement of a prolific career. In 1950, he relocated to Milan, where he fully embraced informalism, an avant-garde art movement characterized by its emphasis on spontaneity and non-conformity.
His works were showcased in exhibitions across the globe, including prestigious venues like the Venice Biennale, the Brooklyn Museum in New York, the Antwerp Biennale of Sculpture, and the São Paulo Art Biennial.
