A collection of 32 blue and white tea bowls and 30 matching dishes, dating to circa 1725, from the Qing Dynasty. These porcelain pieces are adorned with intricate dark blue floral patterns featuring wild cherry tree branches emerging from opposing bushes. The rims are encircled by a narrow border of calligraphic motifs, and the pieces have shallow brown-glazed reverses.
This collection originates from the Ca Mau shipwreck, a Vietnamese vessel that sank around 1725. The items were salvaged and later sold at Sotheby's Amsterdam as part of Lot 56 during the January 29–31, 2007 auction.
This set represents the rich artistic heritage of the Qing Dynasty and the thriving maritime trade of the time. From a British private collection, these porcelain artifacts showcase the intricate craftsmanship of the period.
