About the artist:
Luan Wei, a director of the Jiangsu Oil Painting Society, was born on August 13, 1959, in Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province. His ancestral roots trace back to Rizhao, Shandong Province, and his journey as an artist began in 1976. His academic path led him to the Oil Painting Department of the Fine Arts Department of Nanjing University of the Arts in September 1980, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1984. Following his studies, he embarked on a career that included work in the showroom of Xuzhou City Museum in Jiangsu Province. In 1985, he assumed the roles of teacher and deputy director of the Mural Teaching and Research Section of the Fine Arts Department of Nanjing University of the Arts.
Luan Wei's quest for artistic excellence led him to pursue postgraduate studies in oil painting at the Department of Fine Arts, Nanjing University of the Arts, in 1987. He successfully earned his master's degree in 1990 and is currently a teacher in the Oil Painting Department of the Academy of Fine Arts. He holds memberships in the National Artists Association and the Jiangsu Oil Painting Society.
Luan Wei's artistic journey is characterized by a rich tapestry of achievements. His works have been featured in various national and international exhibitions, garnering praise and recognition. Notably, his artwork "Scorching Sun Awakening" received an Excellence Award at the "Spirit of the Times" National Oil Painting Portrait Exhibition in 2007.
