Trinder, born Thomas Edward Trinder CBE, was famed for his quick wit and trademark catchphrase: "You lucky people!". He took to the stage at just 12 years old and built a dynamic career in entertainment, from revue tours in 1920s South Africa to becoming a staple of British concert halls. Gaining national fame by 1937, Trinder signed with Ealing Studios, appearing in a string of beloved British films from 1938 to 1974.
A lifelong supporter of Fulham Football Club, he served as club chairman from 1959 to 1976.
