About the Artist:
Robert Hass (1898–1977) was a German artist born in Heilbronn. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich from 1918 to 1921 under the renowned painter Franz von Stuck, whose emphasis on academic realism influenced Hass’s artistic approach. His education continued in Karlsruhe and Stuttgart, where he further refined his technique.
Hass traveled extensively across Europe, studying Old Master paintings and experimenting with various styles before settling in Stuttgart. He became an active member of the Stuttgart Secession and the Association of Southwest German Artists, contributing significantly to the regional art scene.
Known primarily for his landscapes and still lifes, Hass’s work is distinguished by his masterful use of color and light, often evoking a sense of tranquility and harmony. His paintings remain sought after for their timeless beauty and technical precision.
