About the artist:
Shaoli Chen is a distinguished artist and a Professor at Nanjing University of the Arts, where he serves as a master tutor. Born in Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province in 1950, he embarked on his artistic journey by graduating from the Fine Arts Department of Nanjing University of the Arts. He achieved a bachelor's degree in oil painting in 1976 and a master's degree in Arts in 1989. Currently, he holds the position of a professor at Nanjing University of the Arts, serves as a master tutor, and is an esteemed member of the China Artists Association. He also holds the role of Executive Director of the Jiangsu Oil Painting Society.
Chen Shaoli's extensive biography is marked by numerous exhibitions, awards, and acknowledgments for his contributions to the art world. Notable works include "Silk Road," which was featured in the Fifth National Art Exhibition and acquired by the Jiangsu Provincial Art Museum. His contributions extend to the celebration of significant events and themes, such as the "Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Party" Jiangsu Provincial Art Exhibition, where his work "Leishan Miao Girl" earned the Excellence Award.
