About the Artist:
Shaoli Chen (b. 1950, Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province) is a renowned oil painter and professor at Nanjing University of the Arts, where he serves as a master tutor. He holds a bachelor's degree in oil painting (1976) and a master's degree in Arts (1989) from the same institution. A member of the China Artists Association and an executive director of the Jiangsu Oil Painting Society, Chen’s works have been widely exhibited in prestigious national and international exhibitions.
His notable works, such as Silk Road and Small Scenery of Stone Pond, have been collected by institutions like the Jiangsu Provincial Art Museum and Beijing Rongbaozhai. Throughout his career, he has received multiple awards for his evocative landscape paintings, which emphasize direct engagement with nature and the expressive potential of plein-air painting.
