Shaoli Chen 'Nude girl'
Nude Girl
Oil on Cardboard | 65 x 34 cm
Condition: Good
Notes: Seal and signature centre left
This vertical composition presents a seated female nude with her back to the viewer, embodying a serene, introspective calm. She is positioned on a richly ornamented, wood-carved chair and rests her head on her arms laid across the backrest. The chair is adorned with two heavily folded draperies—one crisp white and the other a warm ochre yellow—that complement the intricate red carpet below, whose patterns add depth and visual interest. Above the figure, on a warm pastel yellow wall, a circular white and blue decoration depicting a fish injects a playful contrast into the scene. Despite the abundance of ornamental details throughout the composition, the figure remains the most tranquil element, offering a quiet counterpoint to the vivid decorative surroundings.
