About the Artist:
Shaoli Chen, born in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province in 1950, is a distinguished professor at Nanjing University of the Arts and a master tutor. He earned his bachelor's degree in oil painting from the university in 1976 and later obtained a master's degree in arts in 1989. As a member of the China Artists Association and the executive director of the Jiangsu Oil Painting Society, Chen has played a significant role in Chinese contemporary art.
His works have been featured in numerous national and provincial exhibitions, earning multiple accolades. Notable pieces include Silk Road, which was acquired by the Jiangsu Provincial Art Museum, People's Condolences from the Sixth National Art Exhibition, and Small Scenery of Stone Pond, which was collected by Beijing Rongbaozhai. His paintings often capture everyday life, landscapes, and cultural narratives with a refined sense of realism and emotion.
