Shaoli Chen, 'Nude Girl7'
In this evocative painting, a nude female figure is seated gracefully on a white drapery. Behind her, a circular blue decoration with a floral pattern frames her portrait, adding an elegant and serene touch to the composition. On the ground beneath the drapery lies a rectangular blue rug, which, along with the decorative background, provides a striking contrast to the warm skin tones of the model. The composition follows a classical triangular formula, lending a sense of stability and groundedness. In the right corner of the rug, a few green apples on a plate next to the corner of the white drapery form a minimalistic still life.

Artistic Philosophy:
Chen Shaoli values the practice of sketching from life, emphasizing the importance of direct engagement with nature and real-life experiences. This approach contrasts with the more conceptual, studio-bound methods prevalent in contemporary art, aiming to bring freshness and authenticity to his works. Chen believes that this method of capturing the essence of life and nature infuses his paintings with vividness and immediacy, enhancing their artistic value and emotional resonance.
