Wu Yuting, 'Home and People III'
Home and People III
Oil on Paper | 55 x 55 cm
Provenance: Private Collection, Macau Art Museum
In Home and People III, Wu Yuting merges the everyday formality of an academic group photo with a surreal twist. Clad in graduation regalia, the subjects sport whimsical fish heads, resulting in a composition that playfully challenges conventional notions of identity and ceremony. Through vivid colors and deft brushstrokes, Wu imbues each figure with a distinct personality, despite their uniform attire. The result is a thought-provoking tableau that invites viewers to reflect on the intersection of tradition, individuality, and the transformative power of social institutions.
