Description:
An undated archaistic cream-glazed pottery dish in the style of the 15th century AD. The central design features an advancing horseman encircled by a decorative wreath, while five smaller horseman figures adorn the rim. The dish exemplifies traditional Islamic pottery design and bears stylistic similarities to pieces discussed in Lane, A., Early Islamic Pottery: Mesopotamia, Egypt & Persia (London, 1947).
The piece weighs approximately 900 grams and has been acquired through the European art market, previously part of the collection of a gentleman in Brussels.
