Originating from the Majiayao culture of Neolithic China, circa 3300 to 2000 BC, this stunning ceramic vessel features a pear-shaped body with two symmetrical ring-shaped handles at its midsection. The surface is beautifully adorned with intricate black-painted designs on a beige base, typical of the era's artistic craftsmanship. The largest register is decorated with bold zigzag stripe patterns and scalloped swags, while a narrower section above displays alternating striped rectangles and diamond motifs. The neck of the vessel is left unpainted, highlighting the raw ceramic material. This piece is a remarkable representation of ancient Chinese Neolithic artistry and remains in good condition.
