Document Signed by George III:
Official document ("George R") addressed to Charles Long and Charles Henry Somerset, Treasurers of the Royal Chelsea Hospital. It orders that £30,000, derived from the deduction of a shilling per pound, be allocated from the pension establishment of Chelsea Hospital for use in the service of the current year to support a parliamentary grant for the institution. Dated 29 June 1808 at St. James's Court. The document is two pages, showing age-related toning, probable trimming along the right margin, minor splits along the edges, and remnants of previous mounting. -
Document Signed by George IV as Prince Regent:
Signed document ("George PR") approving the payment of £8,614 and 5 shillings to the Treasurer of the Royal Chelsea Hospital. Dated 25 June 1812 at Carlton House. The two-page document has some scattered grime and age-related toning, a horizontally restored split, and blank portions on the reverse.
Both documents highlight the Royal Chelsea Hospital's financial administration under Regency Britain.
