About the Artist:
Simon Dittrich (b. 1940, Teplitz-Schönau, Czech Republic) is a renowned artist whose works evoke a poetic, fairy tale-like world. He studied at the College for Visual Arts in Berlin from 1961 to 1967 and was the recipient of the Röhm und Haas Prize (1967) and the Villa Romana Prize (1968). His artistic accomplishments were further recognized with a grant from the city of Munich in 1971 and the title of city painter of Bremervörde in 1992. Dittrich's works, which include numerous published portfolios, are featured in private and public collections in Germany and internationally.
