Pierre Willy de Muylder
This composition by Pierre Willy de Muylder expertly harnesses the raw elements of visual vocabulary to craft a work rich in varied textures and a striking interplay of light and dark. De Muylder's brushwork flows freely, creating layered surfaces that draw the viewer into a world of visual intrigue. The clever use of dark edges serves to frame the more exuberant and lighter central elements, establishing a contained compositional formula that centers its essence around a compelling focal point of interest.

He was awarded the Georges Van Zevenberghen Prize in 1993.
His work
His painting is very varied in its inspiration and expression. It was Anto Carte who taught him the mastery of drawing, the rigor of composition and the limits imposed on the imagination by the subject itself. PW De Muylder was fascinated by architecture and machines in which he perceived more than the work of a man. His universe is enclosed, limited if not by a wall or stained glass windows, it is by a low, heavily cloudy and impenetrable sky.

His works are included in private and public collections, including in particular those:
of the Belgian State
of the Permanent Deputation of Brabant
of the Foundation for Contemporary Belgian Art
of the Louvain-la-Neuve Museum
of various Belgian municipalities
