Catalogue Note
Executed in a vertically elongated format, this composition presents a bouquet of white, orange, and yellow blossoms rising from a porcelain vase decorated with blue speckled ornament. The arrangement is set against a cool green ground, which intensifies the chromatic contrast and enhances the upward movement of the floral stems.
The artist employs a combination of splattered pigment, gestural ink work, and controlled watercolour layering, producing a surface that oscillates between spontaneity and compositional order. The vertical axis recalls the visual logic of hanging scroll formats, reinterpreted through a contemporary painterly idiom.
The work articulates a dialogue between expressive modern abstraction and the formal heritage of Chinese pictorial composition, in which natural motifs are transformed into rhythmic, almost calligraphic structures.
The painting is in very good condition, with no visible deterioration. Provenance: documentation can be provided upon request.
