Exhibition Works:
One of Chao Nan's notable works is "Thoughts in the Box," an attention-grabbing installation prominently displayed on the second floor of the South China Art Museum. This installation features blue-purple light strips and transparent boxes, creating a visually striking experience. Chao Nan's concept behind this work explores the intersection of time and space, with 24 transparent boxes symbolizing either 24 hours in a day or 24 solar terms in a year. Each box contains discarded materials and works from his creative process, symbolizing "imperfect art." The 24 light strips add an abstract and mysterious dimension to the creation, encouraging viewers to contemplate the interconnectedness of society, time, and space.
Another noteworthy piece by Chao Nan is "Cloud Line No. 1," characterized by its bright and smooth composition with a strong sense of hierarchy. The artist used acrylic on double-layer rice paper for this work. The moment Chao Nan put down his pen to unveil the top layer of rice paper, he was met with delight and surprise. His art blends imagination and unpredictability, inviting viewers to explore the boundaries of creativity.
Italian Art Festival:
