About the Artist:
Jingxin Xia (b. 1985, Jiangsu, China) explores reflections off window panes in urban settings, mirroring the monumental scale of construction in modern China. Inspired by Monet’s studies of light, her work captures the fleeting changes in lighting conditions, reflecting on the rapid transformation of her surroundings. Each painting serves as a contemplative study of modernity, examining humanity’s lasting impact on the built environment. Xia graduated from Nanjing University of the Arts in 2007 and currently lives and works in Beijing, China.
