About the Artist:
Jeff Boutin was born in 1971 in Minnesota and spent his early years on a small hobby farm in Milaca, north of Minneapolis. Struggling with epilepsy throughout his youth, Boutin found solace and expression in art, beginning with comic book creation in middle school and later producing fish and wildlife illustrations. At 17, he was hired by a Minneapolis company to custom paint designs on cars, marking his early foray into the art world. Later, Boutin ventured into the carpet industry, eventually establishing Minnesota's first carpet mill. After selling the business in 2003, he devoted himself to painting full-time. Despite a brief stint in art school, Boutin found formal education stifling and instead chose to chart his own course in the art world, striving to create works that reflect both power and emotional intensity while maintaining an essence of simple happiness.
