Description:
Astahov’s Writing to Chagall presents a dreamlike, luxurious interior where surrealism and homage intertwine. A grand window reveals a serene landscape of tall trees, while the opulent room is adorned with fantastical elements: an oversized pen, a halved egg supporting a delicate butterfly, and floating orbs. A cat, its paw raised in an almost human gesture, draws attention to a writing desk with an open book, an ink pot with a feather, and a vase of white flowers. The walls echo the influence of Marc Chagall, featuring artworks that reference his unmistakable style. In this mesmerizing composition, Astahov bridges artistic generations, creating a visual dialogue between himself and Chagall, celebrating the lasting inspiration of the modern master.
