About the Artist: Frederic Lloveras Herreras was a celebrated Spanish painter, illustrator, and watercolorist, born in 1912. Trained at the Cercle de Sant Lluc and the Sant Jordi School of Fine Arts, Lloveras began his career with oil painting before focusing extensively on drawing and watercolor, the latter becoming his specialty. Lloveras is now regarded as one of the finest watercolorists of post-war Catalonia, known for his masterful use of color and light.
Throughout his career, Lloveras works were widely exhibited and continue to be celebrated posthumously. In 1984, the Barcelona Salon de Mayo dedicated its edition to Lloveras as a tribute to his enduring influence. His works are housed in several prominent museums, including the Diocesan Museum of Barcelona, the Watercolour Museum in Llançà, the Julio Quesada Museum in Crevillent, and the Fine Arts Museum in Santiago de Chile, underscoring his significant contribution to the art world.
