About the Artist:
Guangchen Zhao (1961–2009) was a pioneering contemporary artist from Jilin, China. After graduating from Northeast Normal University in 1968, he became a key figure in the Songzhuang art community, contributing significantly to contemporary art both locally and internationally. Zhao's works, exhibited in Beijing, Hong Kong, New York, and Berlin, often addressed pressing global issues such as war, environmental degradation, and societal upheaval through a distinctive surrealist perspective.
