Wang Jianwei has been committed to depicting a spiritual world parallel to reality in his works, as well as the relationship between this spiritual world and reality, and the meaning of existence.
In Wang Jianwei's view, the ultimate consciousness of being a human being trained by Chinese literati, poetry , literature and martial arts, etc. all belong to the category of "Tao", while the concept of "art" comes from the West, and it pays more attention to human beings. Intuition and the "five senses", what he wants to do is to "express the Tao through art", combining Western art forms to express the "Tao" passed down by the Chinese for thousands of years. Through painting, Wang Jianwei expresses his philosophy and cosmology, which not only corresponds to Chinese thought, but also coincides with Western science. At the same time, his visual and artistic language can also show the characteristics of himself and the era he lives in. Wang Jianwei provides a new possibility for his creation, that is, the combination of artistic language and life wisdom, consciousness space and energy presentation can be realized in two-dimensional space.
