About the Artist:
Zhang Kexue (b. 1988, Anhui, China) is a contemporary Chinese artist known for his evocative surrealist oil paintings. He holds both a bachelor's (2012) and a master's degree (2016) in oil painting from Nanjing University of the Arts. His work has been exhibited in numerous prestigious group and solo exhibitions, including Art Suzhou (2016), New Collision (2016), and China’s Future - The Second Youth Art Nomination Exhibition (2016). His solo exhibitions, such as Blues · Homophony (2016), showcase his unique approach to blending realism with surrealist themes, often exploring the boundaries of perception and psychological space.
