About the artist:
Lu'an Wei, the Director of Jiangsu Oil Painting Society, was born on August 13, 1959, in Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province, China. He pursued his artistic journey after being admitted to the Oil Painting Department of the Fine Arts Department at Nanjing University of the Arts in September 1980. He graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and began working at the showroom of Xuzhou City Museum in Jiangsu Province.
Wei's passion for art led him to become a teacher and deputy director of the Mural Teaching and Research Section of the Fine Arts Department at Nanjing University of the Arts in 1985. His dedication to art education continued as he pursued postgraduate studies in oil painting at the same institution, earning a master's degree in 1990. Currently, he teaches in the Oil Painting Department of the Academy of Fine Arts, and he is a member of the National Artists Association and a director of the Jiangsu Oil Painting Society.
Lu'an Wei's art achievements include numerous exhibitions and awards. Notably, his work "Yellow Wall" was selected for the "Beyond the Open Door" exhibition at the Asia Pacific Museum in Los Angeles, USA, in 1986. Additionally, his oil painting "Noon" was selected for the Seventh National Art Exhibition of Oil Painting in 1989. Wei's dedication to his craft and his exploration of themes like nature and water have resulted in a body of work that is celebrated for its elegance and modernity.
