About the Artist:
Chen Shaoli (b. 1950, Xuzhou, Jiangsu) is a distinguished professor at Nanjing University of the Arts and a master tutor. He obtained his bachelor's degree in oil painting from the Fine Arts Department of Nanjing University of the Arts in 1976, followed by a master’s degree in 1989. A respected member of the China Artists Association and the executive director of the Jiangsu Oil Painting Society, Chen has exhibited extensively in national and provincial exhibitions. His works, which range from intimate portraits to grand historical compositions, are celebrated for their expressive realism and deep engagement with the cultural and social landscape of China.
