About the Artist:
Richard Turner, also known as Turneramon, was a British artist and poet born in Derby, England. He attended Bemrose Grammar School and later studied at the School of Navigation in Warsash, Southampton. In 1958, Turner joined the Merchant Navy as a Navigation Cadet Officer with Ellerman Lines. However, in 1960, he shifted his focus to art, enrolling at the Derby College of Art. Turner won the J. Andrew Lloyd scholarship for Landscape, which allowed him to study at the Royal College of Art in London under the guidance of notable artists such as Carol Weight and Sir Peter Blake. He graduated in 1966 with an Associate of the Royal College of Art Degree and received prizes in Life Drawing, Life Painting, and Landscape Painting. Turner's work reflects his deep understanding of both traditional and contemporary artistic practices, making him a unique voice in the world of art.
