This densely worked composition presents a field of interrelated symbolic forms, including bird-like figures, abstracted faces, geometric motifs, and fragmented pictorial elements. The surface is animated by layered pigment, collage-like interventions, and textured markings that produce a visually saturated environment.
Silvain constructs the image through an accumulative process in which disparate visual signs are brought into unstable coexistence. The resulting composition resists linear reading, instead operating as a field of associative symbols and fragmentary narratives.
The work aligns with traditions associated with Art Brut and CoBrA, particularly in its emphasis on spontaneity, raw mark-making, and psychologically charged imagery. Recurring motifs suggest themes of memory, childhood, and symbolic communication, articulated through a deliberately unpolished visual language.
Untitled exemplifies Silvain’s mature approach to image-making, where narrative coherence is replaced by symbolic density and emotional resonance. The work’s layered surface and proliferating motifs position it within a broader exploration of psychological and mnemonic abstraction.
