Description:
A finely crafted engraved bronze Jue, a ceremonial wine vessel from the Chinese Shang Dynasty, dating back to the 13th-12th century BC. This tripod vessel features a deep body raised on three blade-shaped feet, and is adorned with three bow-string bands on its sides. The handle extends from a fiercely modeled spigot, and a pair of posts with conical caps rise from the rim. The vessel bears a two-character pictograph or clan marker, placed between the handle ends, symbolizing its cultural significance.
