Description:
East Asia, China, Song Dynasty (960–1279 AD). A remarkable set of three wheel-thrown pottery bowls featuring natural marine decorations, including barnacles and shells, accumulated over centuries submerged under the sea. Each delicate vessel rests on a ring-shaped base, with thin walls gracefully flaring outward to form a wide rim enclosing a shallow basin. The bowls are coated in a pale sage hue, accented by cream-colored barnacles and marine sediments, creating a striking blend of artistry and nature.
